The lectures “Importance of regular gynecological
exams and vaccination as a prevention of cervical
cancer and the genital warts” was organised by
MEDIKOM Polyclinic at the beginning of 2008 year.
It was the first time organizing this type of
lectures, but there were so many interested girls
and young women. Our Gynecologist – obsterician
Tatjana Pavlović , MD , after the educational
and interesting lectures, answered all the questions
connected with prevention and vaccination of
cervical cancer, which could be received into
the Medikom Polyclinic.
Vaccination is prepared
from HPV Types 16 and 18, which cause 70% of
cervical cancer cases, and Papanicolau test
abnormalities and HPV Types 6 and 11 cause 90%
of genital warts cases. It could be used for
protection of cervical cancer, cervical dysplasia
high range (CIN 2/3) and vulvar high range dysplasia
(VIN 2/3); also genital warts.
Vaccination is recommended for girls and women
ages 9 to 26. It is given as 3 injections over
6 months. At a date you choose together with
your doctor, 2 months after the first dose and
6 months after the first dose.
It is important to continue regular cervical
cancer screenings after vaccination.

Flu immunisation
Influenza, or 'flu', is a highly contagious
acute viral infection that affects people of
all ages. It typically starts suddenly with fever,
chills, aching muscles and joints, general prostration,
headache, loosing appetite, cough and other respiratory
symptoms. Flu epidemics occur mainly in the winter
months. While most people recover without complications
in 1-2 weeks, flu can cause serious illness and
death, especially in the very young children
and the elderly people.
The main preventional method is VACCINATION
AGAINST FLU with other way of protection.
A vaccine could be given to children older than
6 months and adulds.
A vaccine is produced every year based on the
strains of virus expected to be circulating.
MEDIKOM polyclinic started an immunisation against
flu with SANOFI-PASTEUR vaxigrip split vaccine.
If You are interested for immunisation, we can
organise vaccination in Your house or office
on the time what is the best for you (Your company)
, or You can come everyday in our polyclinic.
STOP THE FLU WITH VAXIGRIP BEFORE IT STOPS YOU!
